Boston Phoenix sues Facebook

Now this is interesting. My old friends at the Boston Phoenix are suing Facebook on a claim of patent infringement. Adam Gaffin has the details at Universal Hub.

    There were probably dozens of companies that had the same idea that eventually made Facebook famous. A friend of mine was the business development director for CollegeClub.com, which was almost identical to Facebook and preceded it by three or more years.

    This just goes to show how desperate the newspaper business has gotten.

    That’s nothing new, FB has been good violator of patent laws. Even their base business model was questioned when the website started to be successful. The sued claimed that Mark Zuckerberg’s (FB funder) former Harvard classmates that he stole the idea from their competing student networking service,
